Links I Love

Important things first: Food

http://www.taste.com.au/

Taste.com.au is my absolute favourite go-to online recipe collection. It takes the recipes from a variety of magazines. I'm yet to experience a bad recipe on here! You can search through collections, by keyword, by ingredient, etc and you can make your own online 'cookbooks'. Members can rate and comment each recipe, and this is a great way to find a good recipe if you can't afford to take a chance. (If you don't use metric system, you will need to convert, but after two years away from metric system, I am more than happy to have it back).

Papercrafts:

Stamp-It is one of my favourite papercraft stores. If you are in Perth, it is in Victoria Park (right next to a great cafe...how convenient :P). I tend not to shop for papercraft supplies online unless it is something specific that I can't find (or is way cheaper...Cuttlebug dies and folders, I'm looking at you). I get inspiration from browsing. Stamp-It is one of my locals, and has three rooms - one of which is almost entirely stamps, a second which is supplies and a third which is the classroom and where all the sale items are - I am always inspired by a bargain! And their classes are awesome!

Refashioning:

http://refashionista.net/

Jillian is my refashion inspiration! I was brought up in a family of sewers (as in people who sew, not a stinky hole in the ground) - my mother made her own wedding dress, and I still have my late grandmother's sewing machine - an all-metal Husqvarna from 1955. I learnt from an early age to sew from scratch - but I would never have thought to 'remake' an existing item of clothing! Jillian set herself the task of not buying any clothes for a year, instead she would recycle thrifted ones and turn them into something very wearable. Clearly, this was successful, as she is now into her third year.

DIY:

http://pinterest.com/

Oh, this is a dangerous, dangerous place. People had warned me about the perils of Pinterest, and I did not listen. If you are short on time and have not discovered Pinterest yet, here's my advice: DON'T. Pinterest began my love of upcycled furniture. While I am living in a temporary apartment with temporary furniture, I have not been able to explore this love. My only wish for Pinterest is that it becomes more global - when you find awesome stuff and realise it is only available from Anthropologie or Pier 1 (in the US) it can be frustrating, but then it can provide inspiration to find a way to create it myself!

I will add new links as I discover them, and I will put them in the relevant posts as they come up. These are my main go-tos for the above categories.
